This article caught my interest because, well, who doesn’t want to shop online for free? This article is about how criminals found loopholes in online shopping websites, such as Amazon.com, which allowed them to order items at a discount, or even obtain merchandise completely free of charge. I think this shows a lot of ingenuity and creativity of the modern day ”criminal”, while also showing that technology still has a ways to go before truly replacing supermarkets and other smaller stores. Because people are getting more intelligent thanks to the availability of information, it’s becoming harder and harder to prevent various kinds of tricks criminals will use to take their loot. The internet, and the technology behind it, is constantly evolving along with humanity. The systems we have in place are still flawed, and it will take time until it is able to catch up. These flaws in the online shopping system were only fixed recently. Until then, there’s free stuff to be had. I also wanted to say that I was impressed by the people who managed to bypass the logic system that was in place. You are not usually supposed to root for the bad guys, but I still find it hilarious that they found a way to get free stuff online. :D
